It's Just Great Sailing Videos Clips

That's it! Simple, really. Our aim is to bring together the best sailing related video clips that are of interest to sailors, and present them in a website format and style for sailors where you can find what interests or entertains you easily.

The videos will be entertaining, action-packed or informational ... but they will be more than just someone's favourite clip of their own boat sailing along! To keep the standard of the videos high, all videos will be reviewed by ourselves before being allowed on BlueWaveBay. We have added our rating to guide you to good videos ... but that's just our thoughts. You need to check them out for yourself!

And we reckon you are probably busy ... busy working to find the time to get your sailing in maybe. We hope this site will help you to get your sailing fix quickly and easily when you can't get to the water. Save your favourites, and if you would like to subscribe, we will send you (not too frequently!) e-mails listing the latest and best videos.

What Sort of Videos ... and Where From?

With a 'soft' launch in May 2007, we have started by collecting together the best of the video clips out on the web from the multitude of video hosting sites out there (ie. the likes of YouTube, MySpace, DailyMotion etc ... there are literally hundreds!). We'll continue to find more great videos and add them to the collection as they come in.

We will also be sourcing videos unique to the site so that BlueWaveBay will grow to be an excellent resource for all sailors on all manner of things sailing.

Video on the Web has Arrived!

Well, we never did really get to see enough sailing on TV did we!. So now it is time for the web to have a go. And, technology is coming together beautifully to make this the time for web video to flourish. Really, it is! We now have cheaper digital cameras producing excellent quality (and even mobile phones can take pretty good quality video), as well as the technology to deliver high quality video over the internet being vastly improved.

This alongside the fact that we all have greater access to high broadband speed internet means that a new level of information and entertainment online is now available.

The Future of The Site

As they say, big plans! We are building an upload process currently that will enable you to submit a video to the site plus much more. We will be adding credits and associated links for content owners, a simple user video rating option ... Watch this space (err, again, as they say!)

And Who Are We?

Well, the idea for the website was started by a small group of friends and keen sailors living down in wonderful Sydney, Australia. We all share that 'sailing bug', and having diverse sailing backgrounds will hopefully ensure the site has a well balanced variety of video subjects.
